Governor Makes Them Official,
Signs Three Historic Bills


Three out of the three big legislative wins for MAC are now official. The wins in transportation, water and education have been signed by the Governor. Photos from the three bill signings are below.

Transportation
Today, Gov. Sonny Perdue signed the
Transportation Investment Act of 2010 at his office
in the Capitol. He was flanked at the signing by
Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Speaker David Ralston, Mayor Kasim Reed and key legislative leaders.


Water
On June 1, Gov. Sonny Perdue signed the Water Stewardship Act of 2010 along the banks of Lake Lanier. Standing behind the Governor for the signing are, (from left) House Natural Resources and Environment Committee Chair Lynn Smith; Lt. Governor Casey Cagle; John Brock, chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc., co-chair of the Water Contingency Planning Task Force and the 2011 MAC chairman-elect; Senator Jack Murphy; Rep. Terry England; Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee Chair Ross Tolleson; Speaker David Ralston; and Tim Lowe of Lowe Engineers and co-chair of the Water Contingency Planning Task Force.

Education

On May 25, Gov. Sonny Perdue signed Senate Bill 84 at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. He was flanked by members of the Commission for School Board Excellence and other stakeholders.
